The program's goal is to support students, so that every child meets and/or exceeds the state's standards.&nbsp; A variety of teaching methods and materials are used to reinforce curriculum concepts.</span><span style="font-size: medium;">&nbsp;</span></div> <div style="text-align: center;" align="left">&nbsp;</div> <p style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong><u>What does school-wide Title I mean?</u></strong> &nbsp;A school-wide Title I program ensures the success of all Chattahoochee Elementary students.&nbsp;&nbsp;Everyone has access to the numerous resources and materials purchased with Title I funds, including iPads, Chromebooks, computer programs, books, manipulatives, and learning games.&nbsp;</span></p> <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;">&nbsp;</span></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong><u>How does this impact my child?</u></strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;Your child has access to excellent resources and enriching programs.&nbsp; Your family makes a difference in our school through volunteer opportunities,&nbsp;education classes, and parent advisory committees.</span></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: medium;">&nbsp;</span></div> <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong><u>TITLE I INFORMATION</u></strong></span></div> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">There are five Title I schools in Forsyth County: Chattahoochee Elementary, Cumming Elementary, Chestatee Elementary, Little MIll Middle School, and Otwell Middle School.&nbsp; Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 is the largest federally funded educational program.&nbsp; This program, authorized by Congress, provides additional funds to school districts to help qualifying schools meet their educational goals.&nbsp; Title I funds are used to promote high academic achievement for all children, provide a greater focus on teaching and learning, and improve communication among schools, parents, and communities.</span></li> <li style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The Georgia Department of Education submitted to the U.S. Department of Education an application requesting flexibility through waivers of ten Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requirements.&nbsp; The Waiver allows the Forsyth County Schools greater flexibility in the areas of improving outcomes for all students, closing the achievement gaps, increasing equity, and improving the quality of instruction. Beginning with the 2012-2013 school year, Georgia transitioned from Needs Improvement (NI) distinctions based on Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) reports to Reward, Priority, Focus, and Alert schools based upon the Waiver formulas.&nbsp; In addition, a new Single State Accountability System, the College and Career Readiness Index (CCRPI), serves as a comprehensive report card for all schools in Georgia.&nbsp; As a parent, you will be notified of the status of our school each year and will receive information about our school’s CCRPI score.</span></li> </ul> <div style="text-align: center;"> <p><span style="font-size: medium;">&nbsp;<em><strong>As a&nbsp;family in our Title I school, your involvement is very important to us.&nbsp;&nbsp; Each year, you can expect the following from us:</strong></em></span></p> <ul> <li style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">We will revise our school-parent-student compact and&nbsp;family engagement&nbsp;policy based upon parent feedback and new school data. The compact will outline how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved academic achievement.&nbsp; These documents will be distributed to parents in multiple ways and in an understandable language and parents will have the opportunity to provide input.<br><br/></br></span></li> <li style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: medium;">We will revise our Title I (school improvement) plan based upon new school data.&nbsp; We welcome your feedback as we go through this process.
